Judges:

Three judges will be named by the Oconee Conservatory Board of Directors.  They will be judging based upon the entertainment value of the talent exhibited on the night of the show.  We will not release the identity of the judges.  Every effort is expended to provide competent judges. No performer or spectator will be allowed to interfere with a judge in the performance of his or her duties. Objection to any person serving as a judge must be submitted to OCFA Director in writing prior to his/her making their final decision and the announcement of prizes; giving good and sufficient reason therefore, and upon which the Director shall have the full power to act.

Judging:

The judges will use a scoring rubric to judge the overall entertainment value of the performance.  Past performances have no bearing on the judging.  Contestants are judged only on their performance the night of the show. The rubric will be posted on the website (www.ocfasc.org)

Completed scoring rubrics are available to contestants.  If you would like yours, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope and a copy will be mailed to you.  These will NOT be made available on the day of the show.

Logistics:

Timing -                 A schedule of acts will be provided to you a couple days before the show.  Contestants need to be in line ready to go on 10 minutes before their scheduled time.

Kid Talent competition begins at 10:00am March 7th

Youth/Teen Talent competition begins at 1:00pm March 7th

Band Talent competition begins at 3:00pm March 7th

Adult Talent competition begins at 7:00pm March 7th

Warming up -                 There are large rooms behind the stage that will be used for warm up space.  You will be sharing these spaces with other performers.  Be courteous.

Location -                 The Show will take place at the Walhalla Civic Auditorium.  Entrance to the back stage area (for loading and unloading equipment) is on the College Street side of the Auditorium.  Entrance to the warm up rooms is in the rear of the building and next to the stage in the auditorium.

Stuff -                   While there will be OCFA volunteers working back stage and assisting in the warm-up areas, they are not responsible for items left unattended.

The Show -                 Performers and their assistants wishing to see the Show must enter the Auditorium from the front entrance.  This is an inconvenience, however, people entering and leaving from the stage area door are a distraction to performers and those watching the Show.  Before entering the Auditorium, take off jingling, clanging, tapping, or excessively shinny costuming.  These are also a distraction.
