Eligibility: ·
Anyone
(OCFA
board of directors or their children may not compete in the talent
competitions) ·
Children
under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times ·

Groups/Ensembles
– each participant must be registered. ·
You
may participate in more than one act. Equipment Provided:
Sound System - ·

Instruments -
Grand Piano Lighting - Foot lights, Overhead lighting, and stationary Spot light Rules:
Time -
For Talent Competition:
Acts that run over will be cut off and will only be judged on the
first 5 minutes.
The Act -
Your act can be from any genre or discipline.
No animals are permitted on the Auditorium premises or in any
act.
Bands -
You
must provide a stage plot to the Talent Show Director no later than
February 15th, two weeks prior to the show date.
If your group would like something outside of what we provide
(i.e. wireless microphones), you will need to provide them at your own
cost.
Behavior -
NO ALCOHOL or DRUG USAGE will be allowed on Auditorium premises.
We have a no tolerance policy, and if anyone in your group is caught
with such substances, the whole act will be removed immediately from the
show and the premises. Judges:
Three judges will be named by the Oconee
Conservatory Board of Directors. They
will be judging based upon the entertainment value of the talent
exhibited on the night of the show.
We will not release the identity of the judges.
Every
effort is expended to provide competent judges. No performer or
spectator will be allowed to interfere with a judge in the performance
of his or her duties. Objection to any person serving as a judge must be
submitted to OCFA Director in writing prior to his/her making their
final decision and the announcement of prizes; giving good and
sufficient reason therefore, and upon which the Director shall have the
full power to act. Judging:
The judges will use a scoring rubric to judge the overall
entertainment value of the performance.
Past performances have no bearing on the judging.
Contestants are judged only on their performance the night of the
show. The rubric will be posted on the website (www.ocfasc.org)
Completed scoring rubrics are available to contestants.
If you would like yours, please include a stamped, self-addressed
envelope and a copy will be mailed to you.
These will NOT be made available on the day of the show. Prizes:
Prize money will be awarded the night of the show.
A scoring rubric will be used to determine point values for each
contestant. 1st place $150, 2nd place
$75, and 3rd place $75. 1st place $100, 2nd place
$50, and 3rd place $50. Prizes:

Prize $50 The decision of the Judges is final. Tickets:
Everyone
must have a ticket to enter the show area.
The Individual Act or Group Leader for Group Acts will be
provided tickets for performers only.
Kid Talent performers will receive one additional ticket for a
parent/guardian. Logistics: Timing -
A schedule of acts will be provided to you a couple days before
the show. Contestants need
to be in line ready to go on 10 minutes before their scheduled time.
Kid Talent competition begins at 10:00am March 7th
Youth/Teen Talent competition begins at 1:00pm March 7th
Band Talent competition begins at 3:00pm March 7th
Adult Talent competition begins at 7:00pm March 7th Warming up -
There are large rooms behind the stage that will be used for warm
up space. You will be
sharing these spaces with other performers.
Be courteous. Location -
The Show will take place at the Walhalla Civic Auditorium.
Entrance to the back stage area (for loading and unloading
equipment) is on the College Street side of the Auditorium.
Entrance to the warm up rooms is in the rear of the building and
next to the stage in the auditorium.
Stuff -
While there will be OCFA volunteers working back stage and
assisting in the warm-up areas, they are not responsible for items left
unattended. The Show -
Performers and their assistants wishing to see the Show must
enter the Auditorium from the front entrance.
This is an inconvenience, however, people entering and leaving
from the stage area door are a distraction to performers and those
watching the Show. Before
entering the Auditorium, take off jingling, clanging, tapping, or
excessively shinny costuming. These
are also a distraction.
Registration: Each
act must have its own entry form. The entry fee applies to all act
participants. Anyone
participating in multiple acts must submit a registration form and fee
for each act. q
