Background Present
With the acquisition of the former Walhalla High School building in 2005, the Oconee Conservatory of Fine Arts took a giant step into the future of Oconee County and the upstate of South Carolina. This three story education icon of an illustrious past has added 7,500 square feet of building space for Arts Education to the community and provided the opportunity to create a true Conservatory environment.

Since acquiring the building, the Conservatory has spent over $20,000 in bringing the facility up to building code including Fire Protection, Security, Heating/Cooling, Electrical and Plumbing.  Countless supporters have contributed including cash gifts, pianos, books, and other educational materials.

Our present fund raising effort is the repair of the windows and roof of the facility.  The windows presently do not provide an adequate barrier from the environment, nor a secure environment.  And the roof must be repaired before we can replace the windows.  This is a top priority that will aid in preserving the building.

Secondly we will be refurbishing the interior to create proper classroom and rehearsal space for our students and faculty.
